Application

The exceptional fatigue and wear resistance of this alloy is the controlled result of the alpha and beta duplex phase. It combines high strength with good ductility and extraordinary toughness. If needed, the characteristics of this alloy can be modified through heat treatment. The machinery industry has adopted this alloy as the standard for all applications requiring excellent sliding properties, wear resistance, fatigue resistance, toughness, and/or resistance to deformation under high load.

BM 954 is used in steel mills for adjusting nuts, shoes (many of which are custom cast), gears, wedges, wear plates, racks, brake blocks, soap mold cavities, as it possesses excellent corrosion resistance. It is also used for parts such as hooks, baskets, and expanders.

It is also used in molds for the plastic industry, including rails, drawers, grafts, and bushings. It is applied in the tube forming/bending industry as a wiper die agent.

Manufacturing Process: Continuous Casting / Centrifugal Casting.
